For a wound to heal, you have to clean it out. Again, and again, and again. And this cleaning process stings. The cleaning of a wound hurts. Yes. Healing takes so much work. So much persistence. And so much patience. But every process has an end and an appointed term. Your healing will come, God willing. And like all created things, your worldly pain will die.
Indeed the process stings. It makes your insides shriek out; the entire process of cleaning a wound takes time, energy and effort. Healing is in itself empowering then, if we put in the right amounts of persistence, patience and efforts. So what do you is the right amount? I have learnt more is less. Be it mind, body or soul, healing takes struggle.
I used to hide and cover my wounds; but if you see in contrast, what happens to covered wounds? They hurt more and they swell!
To let the pain reside, we have to take those necessary steps. It is hard to get over people and places, but, well, we have to.
Healing is one concept I have spent years researching on. I have leafed through many dimensions of it psychological, physical or philosophical. I have had the opportunity to even read about quantum healing. But Sister Yasmin’s words are always to the point.
Keep working hard and smart. Allah SWT not only blesses us with healing, but infinite rewards in the Hereafter too 🙂
Truly! Allah is with As-Sabirin (the patient ones).
(Surah Baqarah: 153)
